HACU National Internship Program

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) represents more than 470 colleges and universities committed to Hispanic higher education success in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Latin America, and Spain.


Via the HACU national internship program, students will gain work experience, acquire new skills, and grow their professional network all the while living in a new city!

Federal and corporate internships are available in the nation’s capital and in numerous cities across the US.


Be part of the more than 11,000 former interns who have taken on the challenge and have used their internships to launch their professional careers.

Eligibility Criteria

SDSU is a member of HACU which means ALL SDSU* students are eligible to apply as long as they meet the additional eligibility requirements. 

*You DO NOT need to identify as Hispanic/Latino to participate in the internship program.  

Applicants must meet the following criteria:


  • completion of freshman year of college before the internship begins
  • minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
  • enrollment in a degree-seeking program (BA/BS) at an accredited higher education institution
  • authorization or eligibility to work in the United States by law (HACU participates in E-verify)

HACU Annual Conference

Hilton San Diego Bayfront

Students attending school in the San Diego area can apply for a conference scholarship to attend the Student Track. 

The deadline to apply is October 6, 2017.
